GreenGo's approach and field of action
Strategy
Three main business models for the Integrated IPP strategy
IPP: Independent Power Producer | BOT: Build, Operate and Transfer | RTB: Ready to build
Competitive outlook
Why we expect GreenGo to succeed as an emerging IPP
Project development has been our core business from the start, originating and developing greenfield projects till ready-to-build status.
Thanks to our in-house experienced development team, we can ensure the highest standards in renewable energy project design. This capital of internal expertise and know-how is our first strategic asset.
Our area managers handle relationships with local stakeholders, boosting the engagement of local communities. Permanent scouting of new initiatives through local networks undergirds the growth of our pipeline.
Exploiting cutting-edge solutions and state-of-the-art technologies we aim to combine the highest performances for our utility-scale assets with long-term sustainability.
From site assessment and feasibility studies to detailed design and operational support, the team oversees all development phases, integrating cutting-edge solutions into every project.
The team collaborates closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, to pioneer advanced agrivoltaic systems. By combining energy production with sustainable agricultural practices, GreenGo creates synergies that enhance land productivity while benefiting both energy output and agricultural yields. This innovative approach fosters a mutually beneficial relationship between renewable energy and farming.
Additionally, GreenGo is at the forefront of implementing floating photovoltaic (PV) systems, utilising water bodies or former quarries to maximise energy production in areas with limited land availability.
Project Financing
Project financing underpins GreenGo’s development of large-scale renewable energy plants, ensuring efficiency and resilience through tailored, project-specific investment structures.
This strategy enables to increase GreenGo’s financial capabilities while managing risks at oldco/SPV levels selecting tier 1 lending institutions and banks.

Financing: M&A
M&A activities play a key role in GreenGo's growth strategy, enabling the company to expand its portfolio and diversify its renewable energy offerings rapidly.
Through strategic acquisitions of SPVs, GreenGo increases the pace of its pipeline growth as an independent power producer (IPP), strengthening its capacity to deliver clean energy solutions to a growing market.
Procurement at GreenGo ensures the acquisition of high-quality materials, advanced technologies, and services essential for renewable energy projects.
This includes solar panels, trackers, inverters, and other structural components directly sourced from trusted suppliers and technology leaders to ensure maximum reliability.
GreenGo carefully reviews new services and technologies, adopting only those that demonstrably enhance project performance and long-term sustainability.
In the pre-construction phase, the team engages geological, technical, and environmental consultancies to assess site feasibility and address potential interferences. By aligning procurement with project goals and sustainability standards, GreenGo delivers efficient and innovative renewable energy solutions.
GreenGo adopts an integrated IPP model, strategically balancing external expertise with internal oversight to ensure high standards in project construction.
While qualified local EPC contractors handle construction activities, GreenGo’s internal project managers meticulously coordinate and oversee every phase to maintain compliance with technical, environmental, and safety standards.
Local PV EPC contractors, Tier-1 Wind Farm EPCI contractors, and Logistics integrators are carefully selected based on their expertise, certifications, and ability to meet specific criteria.
Through these partnerships, GreenGo ensures compliance with national and international standards and the integration of best practices tailored to project requirements.
This approach enables GreenGo to manage projects efficiently while fostering collaboration with local communities and businesses, ensuring timely and high-quality execution of its renewable energy installations.
Corporate and virtual PPA
A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a long-term contract between a power producer and a buyer, such as a company or utility, that establishes prices, volumes and duration for the purchase of electricity. It serves to ensure commercial stability for the producer and predictable supply for the buyer.
GreenGo has strong appeal in the Italian industrial landscape, ranging from ceramics, food and glass manufacturing to chemicals and metals processing. Our steadiness in catching new opportunities deriving from State incentives allows us to pursue a portfolio of top industrial clients. Our activities are already instrumental for the Energy Release 2.0 initiative as we look forward to State guarantees on corporate PPAs.
We look at glocal manufacturing excellences of our Peninsula with a strategic approach, to foster the Italian energy transition.
Incentive Tariffs & Contracts
Feed-in tariffs (FiTs) and two-way Contracts for Difference (CfDs)—including FER 1, FER 2, FER X and the PNRR Agrivoltaic—are integral to GreenGo’s commercial strategy, complementing power-purchase agreements (PPAs) and competitive auctions. These incentives provide predictable revenue streams that strengthen GreenGo’s mission to drive the energy transition through reliable, sustainable investments while enhancing project feasibility.
In Italy, where FiTs and CfDs are administered by the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), GreenGo integrates each mechanism into its operations to accelerate renewable energy development.
Leveraging these national schemes in regions with strong renewable potential diversifies our strategy with long term view, expanding clean-energy infrastructure and building solidity in the renewable energy market.
In June 2024, GreenGo secured 20-year incentive tariffs for two solar plants through Italy’s fourteenth “FER 1” tender. The projects, located in Caltagirone, Sicily and Crotone, Calabria, have a combined capacity of 7.3 MW and are expected to produce 14.5 GWh annually—sufficient to power approximately 5,500 Italian households and reduce CO₂ emissions by 4,800 tonnes per year. This achievement marked a significant milestone in GreenGo’s progression toward becoming an Independent Power Producer (IPP).
