Today, April 22, 2025, we celebrate the 55th anniversary of Earth Day.

First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day was born in response to growing concerns over environmental degradation and pollution. Initiated by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson, this grassroots movement united millions of people in the fight for a cleaner, healthier planet. Over the years, Earth Day has evolved into a global event, inspiring individuals, communities, and governments to take action toward environmental protection and sustainability.

This year’s theme, "𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍, 𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙀𝙏", highlights the vital role of renewable energy in combating the climate crisis. As we mark Earth Day 2025, we acknowledge a transformative truth: the solutions to power the world with clean, affordable energy are no longer distant dreams. Solar, wind, and other renewable technologies are key to reducing emissions, fostering healthier communities, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Across the globe, renewable energy is rapidly reshaping the energy landscape, with record growth in solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal. This shift is driving a decisive move away from fossil fuels toward cleaner energy systems. In 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆, over 𝟰𝟬% of total electricity generation came from renewable sources last year, and this share continues to rise, reflecting a broader global trend toward more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions.
