GreenGo’s Anemometer Plan: Milestones Achieved Across Southern Italy

Three out of ten wind farm sites have now reached a key milestone with anemometers installed in San Severo (FG), Lercara Friddi (PA), and Acate (RG).

Fabio Domenico Amico has announced the successful commissioning of the third anemometer in Acate, Sicily: "An accurate micro-siting characterization is crucial to compute measurement data required for a reliable yield assessment. We are dealing with metherologic variables long term assessment of 10 wind projects to be installed in Southern Italy."

In Lercara Friddi (Palermo), the second anemometer was recently commissioned. It is a 45-meter mast equipped with eight NRG sensors and a Campbell logger, designed to measure wind speed, direction, humidity, and temperature at altitude. A LIDAR system will soon be installed beside it to further optimize the wind farm micrositing.

The Lercara Friddi wind farm, with a planned capacity of 40 MW, is part of GreenGo’s broader development pipeline in Sicily, which includes four greenfield projects for a total of 94 MW.

“GreenGo’s development activity is currently focused on projects in Apulia, Calabria and Sicily – states Giuseppe MastropieriWe expect to install +12 high quality calibrated anemometers within 2021, essential for a bankable wind resource assessment of our greenfield farms”.

Congratulations to Fabio Domenico Amico and GreenGo’s engineering team for their commitment and outstanding results! Special thanks to IDNAMIC and their expert team for their support.
